Pour la plupart des habitants de cette plan\u00e8te, l&rsquo;ours doit \u00eatre rang\u00e9 dans la cat\u00e9gorie des animaux sauvages, mais, dans certains villes d&rsquo;Alaska (et pas des moindres, Anchorage par exemple), les ours doivent \u00eatre (aussi) consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des animaux liminaux (liminal animal). Leur statut \u00ab\u00a0politique\u00a0\u00bb au sens des auteurs de <em>Zoopolis<\/em>, ne peut \u00eatre celui des animaux sauvages (lesquels devraient b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d&rsquo;une \u00ab\u00a0souverainet\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb dans leur espace vital), mais celui de \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9sidents\u00a0\u00bb (<em>denizens<\/em>) (et non pas de \u00ab\u00a0citoyens\u00a0\u00bb, statut r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux animaux domestiques dans <em>Zoopolis<\/em>). En tant que r\u00e9sidents, les ours des villes d&rsquo;Alaska (et de nombreux villages situ\u00e9s sur les c\u00f4tes arctiques) b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d&rsquo;un certain nombre de droits \u2014 mais il faut \u00e9galement faire en sorte qu&rsquo;ils ne repr\u00e9sentent pas un danger pour les citoyens (humains et non-humains, par exemple les animaux domestiques). L&rsquo;exemple des ours d&rsquo;Anchorage est un cas-limite, comme l&rsquo;est celui des loups du Mercantour (dans la mesure o\u00f9, l\u00e0 aussi, un \u00e9quilibre doit \u00eatre trouv\u00e9 entre la r\u00e9sidence des loups aux abords des p\u00e2tures et le devoir que nous avons de prot\u00e9ger les animaux domestiques dont nous avons la charge, en l&rsquo;occurrence, les brebis \u2014 tant qu&rsquo;il en reste et qu&rsquo;il reste des hommes pour les \u00e9lever et les amener aux estives).<\/p>\n<p>Parmi les bonnes pratiques envers les ours \u00ab\u00a0p\u00e9ri-urbains\u00a0\u00bb, on trouve des consid\u00e9rations \u00e9nonc\u00e9es sous la forme n\u00e9gative : par exemple, \u00e9viter de s&rsquo;approcher de trop pr\u00e8s des animaux (pour faire une bonne photo par exemple), ne pas interagir de mani\u00e8re agressive, et surtout ne pas les nourrir (et donc prendre soin de ranger ses poubelles dans des containers herm\u00e9tiques) \u2014 mais \u00e9galement des consid\u00e9rations \u00ab\u00a0positives\u00a0\u00bb : soigner les individus malades, leur m\u00e9nager des corridors d&rsquo;acc\u00e8s aux arri\u00e8res pays plus sauvages (il arrive que les ours se retrouvent aux abords des villes et ne sachent plus comment retourner dans l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re-pays \u2014 parce qu&rsquo;on a b\u00e2ti des obstacles urbains par exemple, que la ville s&rsquo;est \u00e9tendue), etc etc.<\/p>\n<p>Le statut des animaux \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9sidents\u00a0\u00bb (<em>liminal animal denizen<\/em>) est assur\u00e9ment l&rsquo;un des plus int\u00e9ressants dans le livre de Sue Donaldson et Will Kymlicka : il demande \u00e0 la fois de consid\u00e9rer des probl\u00e8mes extraordinairement vari\u00e9s et concrets \u2014 au point qu&rsquo;au-del\u00e0 des r\u00e8gles g\u00e9n\u00e9rales \u00e9nonc\u00e9es ci-dessus, il faut \u00e9galement consid\u00e9rer le cas de chaque esp\u00e8ce ind\u00e9pendamment, voire de chaque individu, tel renard qui vient se nourrir dans le jardin, tel groupe de loirs qui occupent le grenier, et il est possible, dans certains cas, de nouer des relations de solidarit\u00e9 avec un animal liminal en particulier \u2014 et donc d&rsquo;inventer des solutions pratiques, d&rsquo;imaginer et de proposer des am\u00e9liorations dans nos relations avec ces visiteurs qui d\u00e9cident de s&rsquo;\u00e9tablir \u00e0 nos portes (voire : chez nous).
